Nonsense Nonsence
Haven’t you sometimes thought that the English language is made up of so many nonsensical spellings that it
simply makes nonsense? Well, you’re not alone. But the nonsense that originates from misusing these words can be a
lot of fun.
This is a nonsense website devoted to fun.
I work on the internet all the time and some of the nonsense I come across would make your hair curl. Even among
English speaking countries the English language differs and these differences can also be funny. Then we get into
the ‘slang’ words. These are the words every English speaking country uses that are very “country specific” and
lend colour, energy and vibrancy to our language.
Australians are renowned for misappropriating, abbreviating, enlarging, diminishing and in most other ways;
abusing the Queen’s English. But a person generally is left in no doubt what the meaning was intended behind the
words. But the nonsense is not confined to language.
Most of our human interaction comes from reading each other’s body language. And boy, oh boy, can we sometimes
get that wrong. Human’s being human, often say the opposite to what their body language is saying and it’s these
oddities that cause friction and total misunderstanding among people, particularly between the sexes.
George “Dubbya” was a prime example of someone who was constantly “putting his foot in his mouth”. Now is that a
world wide saying or purely another piece of Aussie slang? Either way, I’m sure you understand what I mean.
Nonsense website is just what it says it is….a website full of nonsense. And fun. And if “we take the Mickey”
out of some nonsense you’ve written, videoed or found, laugh with the rest of us and be more aware next
time.
