The Selling of Wisdom is Nonsense
Wisdom is usually hard gained by experience and you can sell the information for the wisdom but
it is nonsense to think that anyone can actually buy wisdom.
You can buy the advice and information but not the wisdom gained from the experience.
One of the best examples of this philosophy would have to be the internet marketing business.
There are new products released every day made up hopefully from someone's experience at implementing and using
the knowledge that they are selling to you or that you have agreed to pay for. To think this alone will give you
the wisdom to succeed or to make you succeed is nonsense.
Wisdom is a very personal learning event; a lesson taught from an experience. It is 'the doing',
or experiencing, of this actual lesson that gains a person the individual wisdom of how it works.
The old Aesop fable of "leading a horse to water but you can't make it drink" is very accurate.
Just because you can point someone or something towards what they need or want, won't give them the wisdom
needed to either use it or to do it.
So it is with internet marketing. A product producer can give a person all the known directions
and information of how to do something, but unless a person actually follows the directions to replicate the
information, they are unlikely to gain any wisdom from it.
There is another old saying 'experience is a great teacher'. If only humanity would listen to
some of the old fables that are so full of wisdom we would then be able to go on and learn some new wisdom to
pass to the next generation, rather than constantly proving the old proverbs true.
Repeating the same mistakes over and over again is pure nonsense. So is constantly proving
something true over and over again; hardly a wise activity or a good use of our time. So is selling incorrect
information as 'wisdom' just to make money a wise thing to do. The selling of nonsense purporting to be wisdom
for money, is only likely to give the seller such a bad name, no one will ever buy anything from them again.
So what exactly is wisdom?
This can be described in as many ways as there are people on earth. A wise person is someone who
knows not to do something because of a previous experience. A good example of this would be learning not to
touch something that is hot.
Another description of a wise person would be someone who is capable of thinking an action or an
event through to see what the ramifications of a certain action are likely to be. Many people do something,
without thinking of the affect that action or saying could lead to. A wise person thinks through an action to
the effect of that action.
Wisdom comes in many forms. Some people are wonderfully wise logically and yet have no emotional
wisdom. Other people have emotional wisdom but aren't able to think logically and see to their own well being
beyond helping someone they love to relieve their pain or anguish. Wisdom is probably one of the most difficult
of all human knowledge to gain.
To think of selling wisdom is pure nonsense but to think that you can actually buy it is even
worse.
