The English language has many sayings that sound so similar but the difference in meaning is remarkable. It can be a lot of funny nonsense when you understand the definition of words and the nuances in which they are best used. English was once told to me to be the language of the Geese by a German friend who was learning how to speak the language and this sparked off a long-term love of the language for me.
So in this article I am going to be a person with a nice manner and good manners to share with you the differences in these two little, innocuous words. If a person is described as a person with a nice manner, they mean that the person is a cooperative, happy, cheerful, caring, respectful and well mannered person who cares about and respects all those around them. Having good manners is only part of being a person with a nice manner. Are you confused yet? I hope not because it is important to understand the difference so you can practice it every day until it simply fits you and you do it without thinking too hard about having to do it. Why is Your Manner Important? To be a person who has a nice manner about them will always keep people coming to seek your friendship. Think about it for a minute. Do you like grumpy, uncooperative people who rarely smile or do anything for anyone except themselves? No, thought not but neither do most people. If you have a nice manner about you people invite you to be their friend. They share life with you whether that is business, social, sports or whatever else interests you and them. People will seek your company out if you are a person with a nice manner simply because everyone will want to be with you. To be a person with a nice manner doesn't mean you are to become a door-mat. Nothing could be further from the truth. If any person tries to take advantage of your nice nature, tell them to take a long-walk-off-a-short-plank. But because of your nice manners, you have told them politely. There is no point in taking yourself down to their level so never underestimate the power of a nice natured person using polite manners to tell someone to 'get lost'. In actual fact, once you become a person with a nice manner, and you are a well mannered person, you will be amazed at how powerful words can become when used appropriately. The secret lies in education and knowledge. Once you have a precise understanding of words and their meanings and all the other nuances that apply with the English language, you will be quite surprised at the number of friends that you have gathered around you and how well you can handle those who would hurt you. |
